Habitat Creation For Everyone

by Jeffery Nevil(143) Red Star

As the cities, villages and towns grow the nature around us will become depleted and soon habitat creation will grow into our only way to keep our countryside going strong and healthy. Environment formation consists of re-establishing a forgotten or neglected area which would be suitable after sufficient growth and care to again withhold life. The beauty of this little terminology is that basically anyone can do it, obviously not as well as a professional team trained within the practise but if you take a bit of care yourself you can do some pretty miraculous stuff.

So... first things first, the area. You need to pick your area of choice in which you are planning to help and sort out, hopefully this area will be a neglected one so you can bring something back to life not just enhance as this is the main point of habitat creation. So you could find an abandoned part to your garden or a wild area off road or in your community to sort out, this is the best idea as it is these parts that can make a real difference and secure them as points of interest not broken down areas that should be used for construction purposes.

Secondly how do you get around to actually sorting out the area? Well the first thing to do is clean, tidy, get rid of debris, and inspect the type of environment you are in. When you have done this you will begin to get to the creative side. Though firstly you must understand what is debris and what is a habitat waiting to happen. Eco systems are very delicate and you need all aspects of life to see a dramatic change to the area, fallen logs are great of little critters and fallen leafs are great for soil enhancement. This is not an afternoon pass time as if you are serious about this it does take nearly 4 seasons of work. Get rid of all nutrient sucking weeds as this will only be counterproductive, plant trees, plant flowers, put up feeders, create space for living locations for birds and mammals and don't forget a bit of H20, by adding a bit of water you can make a massive difference to the quality of life and how quickly it regains its full ecosystem requirements back again.

If all this sounds a bit daunting but the urge to help the planet you live on which gives you everything is still strong then look in to talking to charities and other businesses that deal with these situations on a day to day bases on a professional level. They will always be happy to help you out and be able to give you sound strong advice on how to approach your area in question. Either way get involved in some way, if we carry on like this we will all be living in a grey concrete world living off synthetic oxygen...if we survive without an ecosystem that is, so get creating habitats soon!

Jeffrey Nevil writes on a number of subjects including habitat creation.
