Home workouts - can you get fit from home workouts?

After over indulgence at Christmas, & making New Year's resolutions lots of peoples' aim is to get fit, lose weight or build muscle, & get in shape. January is when gym membership goes through the roof, & in case you are a regular gym member, it can be a frustrating time as the gym is packed. Often you need to wait for equipment or get on what you can!

It could be a good opportunity to keep away from the hustle & bustle of the gym & workout from home for some time. This can save you pricey gym membership fees. Home workouts are something i have experimented with historically but never got in to at the time. This was because i lacked focus, variety & knowledge on home workouts.

My views have changed dramatically as i have discovered there's a immense number of home workouts out there that are varied, challenging & have helped me accomplish great results.

Taking up the Insanity workout has opened up my eyes as to what you can accomplish in your own living room. Using plyo-metrics, & resistance training this workout has got me fit. Since then i have never looked back.

I have learn't a great deal on body resistance training, through varied push-up sets, & dips. I have also mastered advanced push ups including pyramid push ups, spider man push ups, T-push ups & moving push ups. These work the shoulders & triceps. However, i would recommend you do need to invest in some dumbells & a pull up bar, to give the lats & biceps & equal home workout. Read more on pull up workouts.

Combining the body resistance training with weights & cardio drills is a challenging workout which i enjoy. Read more on this type of home workout. These workouts serve to compliment my judo training. As a black belt striving to reach 2nd Dan, I am always looking for new fascinating workouts to improve strength & stamina.

In answer to the query, are you able to get fit from home workouts? YES. You can accomplish good cardio fitness through plyo-metrics, squats, burpees, & jump training. It is possible for you to to accomplish a lean, toned muscular physique through resistance training/dumbells. Both these elements need to be supplemented with stetching & chilled down periods to prevent injury. Outdoor jogging is also great to break up your process on positive days. I also enjoy M100s.  This is part of the six pack shortcuts workout.  For my review on this programme follow this link

However, if your aim is to get muscular, you will either need to invest in some home weights equipment or brave it out at the gym.

It is always great to add variety to your workouts to keep challenging different muscle groups & avoid the plateux effect. With some great home workouts to follow i will be avoiding the gym for a while longer. Read more through my home workout reviews & tips.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. Fulfil your New years resolutions.
