Wind turbines for homes are as different as night and day. They all depend on the particular wind circumstances and property parameters you find yourself having to deal with.

How much power you want and need to make - One of the first things that you need to do is size up what you are trying to power with the wind. This is not an easy task and requires some study. You can have a freezer or a refrigerator powered directly by your wind turbine, but it is probably a good idea to have a battery backup in case the wind is not blowing.
