5 Ways a Church Can Use Church Banners To Bring In New Worshipers

by Viktoria Carrella(28)

If you are looking to bring new families into your congregation, make them feel welcome with a custom church banner. These banners are weather resistant, eye catching and affordable. You can get a simple banner that says “Everyone Welcome” at the corner store…but why not make an impact with a message with more pizzazz?

Announce a Special Event

If you have a special event, anniversary, or activity, a church banner is a perfect way to announce it to the community. A banner that reads “Welcome Pastor Roger” or “Celebrating 50 years in Mayfield – Come Join the Fun”. Draw the crowds into your fundraiser with “St. Stephens Family Carnival” on a banner for all to see.

Invite Residents from the New Development

If a new building or housing development has recently opened, there will be a lot of families looking for a new place to worship. A brightly colored church banner will draw their attention and invite them in to worship with you. Even a new large employer will bring new families to town. Let them know they are welcome with a sign that reads “Welcome to International Organization Employees and Their Families.”

Advertise Holiday Services

It’s true that the busiest times are holiday services at Christmas & Easter. You can welcome these guest worshippers and roll out the red carpet with a custom church banner. A friendly message like “Easter Services at 8, 10, and Noon…Visitors Welcome!” will project the welcoming spirit people will embrace. You get more visitors and potential new members during holidays than at any other time of the year. Make sure they feel welcome with a custom church banner unique to your community.

Welcome the Congregation From a Closed Church

In these tough economic times, everyone has been affected, even churches. The Catholic Church has been combining parishes to save money, and several smaller churches have been forced to close their doors. Welcome those lost souls to your flock with a special message of comfort like “St. Johns welcomes the First Episcopal Congregation, Let Our Prayers Join Together”.

Promote Youth Programs

When choosing a church, many families are particularly interested in the youth programs. Families want a church that will help develop their children’s faith and get them excited to come to services each week. You can promote different programs all year long with quick, easy, and affordable church banners that announce “Rock Out at Our Friday Teen Dances” or “Our Sunday School Has Kids Begging to Come to Church!”
