Ice Sculptures Are More Than The Perfect Touch for Any Event

A well-planned event can leave a long lasting impression, and a beautiful ice sculpture can give that extra 'wow factor' that will have people reminiscing many years down the road. Sure chocolate fountains and champagne pyramids are still great fun, but they hardly compare to the crystalline brilliance of a chilling ice sculpture.

There are several ways to include an ice sculpture into your event. Many people choose to order a signature piece from the sculpting company's catalog. There are usually many shapes and sizes ranging from small ice bowls that hold fruit or drinks, to larger tabletop pieces that come in the shape of swans or dolphins. Sushi trays and shrimp platters masterfully crafted from ice will keep the food chilled, and add an extra level of class to any occasion. There are also interactive ice sculptures called luges. These are designed to pour drinks over, which chills the drink as it passes down the ice. Artists will come in and knock out a half hour sculpture for shorter functions, but the best of the best is to watch the ice being sculpted for a couple of hours consecutively. Guests can mingle as they watch a massive block of ice slowly becoming a true work of art.

Speaking from personal experience seeing dozens of different examples of ice sculptures it has given me the ability to select which ice sculptures belong at which event types. And yes whilst some are obvious choices, luge at parties...swans at formal occasions, there have been plenty of times I have struggled when comparing two of the sculptures that could suit an event, simply because of the couples or group hosting the event.
