Summer is coming and the trainers have been relegated to the last place in your shoe choice.
For years, flip flops have been the first choice during summer. Nice and open for you to keep your toes cool, care-free design, lightweight and easy to use. However there's a newcomer on the street with many of similar trendy qualities, but with some terrific extras as well.
Crocs offer an alternative to the traditional flip flops with a similar open and relaxed style, however with a little more substance.
And so the beach fighters are set... let's get going.
Comfort and ease
This is the primary issue with flip flops. Typical flip flops are a very thin, flat piece of rubber having a strap stretching over out of both sides of the sole and attaching back on the sole in the place between the large and second toes.
Flip flops are kind of like wearing nothing on your feet. This openness is perfect for strolling on the beach sand as well as roundabout. The negative side however, is the fact that lack of just about any real sole means they are tough on the feet when strolling any long distance. There isn't foot support whatsoever and also the feet are absolutely open to the weather.
Crocs share the same slip on style as flip flops, though with a lot more substance. The sole is actually denser similar to a sneaker, and also the feet are covered at the front over the metatarsals. The rear straps which can be used to help support the feet in place may be flipped forwards and out of the way for a greater flip flop feel.
Orthotics
Flip flops tend to be notoriously damaging to your feet. They give absolutely no support for the foot arch at all. It is also easy for the foot to slip around on the surface as a result of the lack of any substantial retaining straps. The sole will give a little protection from bits and pieces on the floor, however still, the actual sliver-thin style doesn't help so much.
Crocs, particularly the Rx versions, provide you with the mid-foot support that the feet need to have. This will make them perfect for any lengthy amount of physical exercise including going for walks. At the same time by keeping your feet in position, there is no need to be concerned about your feet slipping within the shoes .
Appearance
Flip flops don't have much to them. They are offered in a very regular range of colors, and much of the colorful part is invisible beneath your foot anyway. The straps give you a bit of color and also design.
Crocs, then again, were styled for maximum colorfulness. The bright, often single-colored, shoes stand out in a crowd. There's a tremendous selection of colors available and you could combine the odds and ends and put little bits into the holes.
The Outcome
Crocs do themselves offer you a variety of flip flops. They are meant to seem much the same as traditional flip flops, however with the advantages of the technical developments made for Crocs shoes. These kinds of extras include a denser, better designed sole as well as straps which secure your feet far better.
If you are just standing around at the sea, then just about anything should be adequate. However, if you want to do any kind of walking, something from the Crocs range may very well be better suited for taking any additional punishment.
