As mums (or dads) we use our baby strollers regularly and some of us go to the gym. However it is not possible for all of us to get to the gym. This should not stop us from getting some good exercise and there is a extremely easy way to do this.

Your baby stroller can be used to help you exercise your body. The following exercises designed to be used with your stroller.

If you are in any doubt about your health, consult your doctor 1st. Try to warm up before exercising.

Try to carry minor fitness weights, fitness stretch bands etc with you in carrier bag. These can come in handy whenever you stop and want to exercise your arms. Feel free to bring along other exercise equipment if you wish and integrate these into your routine.

It takes about 20 minutes to complete these exercises. The time on each exercise may be varied depending on your fitness level. Do not exercise so hard that you struggle to breath.

Repeat for the other leg.

Repeat four times.

Repeat with the other leg.

The leg lift

Walk as normal with your infant stroller.

Lift your legs higher than normal until your thighs are horizontal.

Do this for more or less two minutes.

Pushups

Use park bench.

Stand behind bench.

Step backwards 1 big step.

Lean towards the bench and hold on to it.

Start the push-ups.

Set yourself a target of 10 pushups.

As you become fitter, increase the amount of push-ups.

Curb Step ups

Be aware of traffic when doing this exercise.

If you have used a stairmaster before, then this exercise should be immensely familiar to you.

Repeat this for 2 minutes

Bench step ups

whenever you get good at kerb step ups you will probably want to increase the exertion and park benches are a good height to get your muscles working hard.

Stretching/Cool-down

20 seconds on each muscle group is a good length of time for stretching.

After approximately 20 minutes, you should be finished the exercises. Whenever you get fitter, you might want to increase this time to suit your fitness level.

One of the most expensive strollers people use for these exercises is the Stokke Xplory Stroller.
