Common Dog Fur Problems

The glory of the dog is on its utter loyalty to its owner. The more expression of loyalty a dog could display, the more glorified it is. Moreover, dogs are also known for its acuity and superb intelligence which are easily documented time and again. However, dogs are more than just loyalty and intelligence. Dogs could also be readily associated with beauty. The fur of the dog could give it such a stunning appearance making it superior above all the rest. That is the reason pet owners nowadays are making every effort to groom their dogs and have their fur look as beautiful as possible.

For all the beauty that dog fur could bring, along with it is the great responsibility of keeping it that way. And when dog fur problems set in, nothing else matters to the owner but to address the problem as early as possible.

Hair Loss

Hair loss in dogs is quite common but with different reasons. You might wonder by all the hair that gets into its dog jerseys and into your carpet. Minimal hair loss is not enough to worry about because dogs’ fur naturally falls off; however, it should alarm you if the hair loss volume ways goes out of the normal rate to the point that the dog starts to have balding spots all over its body.

One of the many reasons for a dog to suffer hair loss is skin problems. When a dog contracts allergies due to diet or insect bite, it affects the skin and consequently causing the hair to fall, thus the balding spots.

Fungal infection could also very well be the culprit of the hair loss. Ringworm could get easily into a dog’s skin especially if the dog lacks hygiene and grooming.
Lastly, when the corticosteroids level of the dog’s body dramatically increase, that hair starts to fall.

Hair loss is not in itself life-threatening, but do not neglect it for too long for it might be one of the accompanying symptoms of a more serious health condition other than the ones being mentioned. Consult your veterinarian right away, and make every effort to get back the beauty of those furs.

Lacklustre appearance

 When your dog’s fur starts to lose its lustre and starts to become brittle and dry, you should readily make an effort to address it as early as its onset. Poor hygiene and grooming sure could make your dog’s fur look less beautiful than it should be, but there could be more serious reasons for it. Poor diet, hypothyroidism and diabetes could very well be the reason why the fur becomes dry. A visit to the veterinarian should keep you from useless guessing and would give you an idea to the actual condition of your dog.

No dog jerseys in the world will ever compensate for your dog’s fur. There is nothing more beautiful than its fur. Therefore, address those fur problems right away, and spare your beloved pets from suffering and embarrassment.
