if you have a Net business selling items either from a website or on eBay, the last thing you want is to have to buy stock and hope that you are able to sell it. This would just be slightly better than having to have a real bricks and mortar shop on the high street.

The beauty of the Net is that you can find customers and introduce them to a trader and collect a payment without ever having seen either party or the product. This is known as drop shipping or affiliate marketing.

However, there is another way too. One which permits you to take advantage of the cost-saving of bulk-purchasing from a wholesaler. What if you could purchase in bulk from a wholesales at a discount and then have the wholesaler complete your orders as they come in - big or small?

This is feasible by using wholesale shippers. However, using a wholesale shipper is not the same 'money for nothing' concept as affiliate marketing - you have to have some start-up capital, which means that it is a scheme not open to everybody, which is also a good thing.

Let me explain: anyone with access to the Net is able to be an affiliate of a product free of charge, promote it and collect a sales commission and so millions of people are doing it. However, to take advantage of wholesaling, you have to pay for your items up-front, but you can ask what you like for them.

This second procedure puts you in a a lot more powerful position and gives you more remit. Let's face it: why do 98% of affiliate marketers fail? Because the free method does not work. You need commitment, time, knowledge and edge. All right, a lot of people give up too early as well. They regard it like a hobby and hope that they will earn some money.

Nobody would ever start a bricks and mortar business like that. You have to research the market, research the suppliers and spend some money. The Internet removes the necessity to find a good location (unless you translate that as site/domain name) and pay lots of rent.

This makes it less expensive to sell on line but not easier, you still have to do research and put in time and money. Wholesale drop-shipping can help, but you have to find the wholesalers. There are wholesaler directories and some cost up to $300, but they have thousands of tried, tested and trusted wholesale drop-shippers all around the world.

Search on Google to find these or choose your niche and look for your own suppliers, most of them speak English even in the Far East. Payment protection is not as big an item as you may think. PayPal and your credit card company are able to retrieve your funds if something goes badly wrong, but it is something that you should check up on first.
