Buying A Static Caravan

by Jeffery Nevil(136) Red Star

Static caravans, who knew they still had a thriving market? Who knew they were important enough still to have articles written about? Who knew they've had a massive redesign in the last few years from shabby, uncivilised tin sheds to fully equipped sleek ultramodern housing alternatives? Well they have and they are doing a very good job at it. Static caravans have had a massive overhaul in definition and concept; before when one would think of such an investment it would be considered ghastly but seriously the toffee has worn off and we are beginning to see the luxury from the shoddy. They now have the possibility to become incredible structures of modern engineering, they can be bespoke and because they are not considered houses you'd be surprised on what type of location you can build on.

No longer is there a stuck up view to static caravans, the most expensive static caravan in England went for 550,000 pounds this month which boasts a luxury Italian kitchen, a smart phone controlled eco-friendly heating system, 3 bedrooms, Jacuzzi bath and bi-fold doors allowing unhindered scenic views of the surrounding Lleyn peninsular in North Wales, sounds nice doesn't it? Seriously long gone are the days where if you were going on a caravan holiday you would need to rethink your sanity. They are becoming quite a new little trend and again gaining in popularity with the younger generations which is helping to keep an interest in the subject as a whole; because of this we are seeing that increase in luxury and quirky caravans. In principle caravans should be quite a laugh and be accepted in open arms but because of the stigma that became attached to them it's taking a while for this to lift and for the new wave of static caravans to become the norm. Though don't wait too long as it is expected and expected soon.

So this might be a perfect time to consider buying one of these little pieces of paradise. As regulation and legality has not changed very much over the years you would be surprised what you can get away with and what type of loop holes there are; static caravans are not even considered houses...so when you take that out of the equation trust me it becomes rather intriguing. Now that most of England is green belted and cannot have much built on it a static motorhome is a great alternative if you want a holiday home somewhere within the country but don't want to pay a premium for location. You can get creative, resourceful and eco-friendly with static caravans so don't turn your back on them too quickly, do some research and see if it isn't far more economical and exciting to build your same dream home for cheaper, in a nicer location but it being a static caravan instead...everyone is doing it Paris, it's all the rage darling!

Jeffrey Nevil writes on a number of subjects including buying a static caravan.
