Skip Hire Sussex

by Jeffery Nevil(144) Red Star

Hiring a skip is relatively straight forward these days, you can phone up a company, have a bit of a friendly chinwag down the phone, put in a few details, bit more of a chin wag then before you know it there is someone knocking on your door with a massive skip telling you it's all yours...for a few days that is.

There is, though, another side to skips, a darker yet more creative side. If you look around the United Kingdom there are most likely thousands of skips lying around abandoned sites, ones that might have become rusty, old and forgotten about and even ones that are just falling apart not being used by anyone...so what can we do we these treasures?

Now that I have you in a skip frame of mind let me tell you about how there is literally a thousand and one things you could do with it, but the question is what do you do with it? The most typical answer to that question would be 'surely put rubbish in it?' Well yes that is a possibility and yes that is the most obvious thing to do with it, but there are a number of cool things you can do with a skip...so buckle up and prepare for the awesome doables with skips.

1, This idea is more for the abandoned genre then the hiring genre...Why not do something a bit more eco-friendly with your skip and put in some soil and get some plants and plant them within the skip itself. You have the ability to turn an old rusty hunk of metal into an oasis of life anywhere. This is also highly recommended to be executed in places that are looking a little grey and could do with a touch of Mother Nature.

2, The second idea, this one being more for the hiring kind, is to turn your skip into a make shift plunge pool for the summer. If you are just having a one of crazy party or want a pool but only for a summer...hire out a big skip put some lining around it, little solar panel heater and you have yourself a quick, fully legal plunge pool...I stress plunge because unless you get a super big skip you won't really be able to do laps, well you might depending on how tall you are! It's safe, it's funny, it's different.

3, Again this is more for the abandoned kind but if there is one lying around a park, or near a local hang out area...if you put a little bit of initiative and time into and not forgetting money you can create a skate ramp very easily, this concept might scream health and safety but it does help to turn something that's rotting away into something practical and useful. If that seems a little too extreme you can turn it up a notch by turning it into a table tennis table instead...far less broken bones and A&E trips.

So there you have it, 3 randomly cool ideas for what you can do with skips...who knew they were so versatile?
