Does Phil Mitchell Go To Prison?
by Mark Benson(329)
Fans of Eastenders have been engrossed by the ongoing storylines which include Phil Mitchell and the relentless pursuit of justice against him by Denise. Denise received a tape recording of Phil admitting that the car in which Kevin, her former lover, was killed was actually a cut and shut and should never have been on the road. Denise very quickly took this evidence to the police although so far they have been unable to make any definite inroads into Phil's ongoing alibi and story.
Will Stella still be the undoing of Phil?
Despite the fact that the current ongoing storyline regarding Phil Mitchell and his son Ben has centred around the death of Kevin it now seems that the death of a former girlfriend may well be Phil Mitchell's undoing. Those who have watched Eastenders for some time will be well aware that Phil had a relationship with a lady by the name of Stella who was mentally deranged and became obsessed with Phil and Ben.
Stella committed suicide by jumping off a roof as Phil attempted to reason with her and talk her down. While there was some speculation at the time that Phil Mitchell actually push Stella off the roof this was not the case although a recent "confession" found in the belongings of Pat Butcher seems to indicate he did kill Stella.
Denise has found this note and she has now taken it to the police who are looking to take action against Phil Mitchell for the death of the lady who actually committed suicide.
Does Phil go to prison?
While the Eastenders scriptwriters have been very reluctant to give away too much regarding Phil Mitchells story it does seem as though he will be taking a break from the soap and spending time in prison. This will only be a short term "holiday" and Phil Mitchell will certainly be back on our screens in the weeks and months ahead after his jail sentence is confirmed.
Who will take Phils places as the Eastenders hard man?
Phil Mitchell has been the resident tough guy on Eastenders for many years now and if he does spend time in prison, as seems highly likely, there will no doubt be a number of people to step up to the mark. Max Branning and his brothers are more than capable of turning to violence and are seen by many as the bookies favourite to become the "hard men of the square".
Quite how this will pan out when Phil returns from prison remains to be seen because this has been his patch for some time now and he is unlikely to give it up easily.
Will you miss Phil Mitchell?
Every now and again we see a number of main characters in Eastenders taking a break from the show for various reasons. However, while Phil Mitchell has been away from the show for a relatively short period of time in the past it does seem that many fans will miss him. He seems to be a mix of every emotion and every characteristic you can think of and while many people positively hate Phil Mitchell there are many who want him to remain in the Square full-time.
