What To Think About When Buying Office Chairs
by Jeffery Nevil(158)
There are so many different types of office chair out there. If you're setting up an office, or you're looking to refurbish, it's difficult to know where to start. Of course you want to provide a place to sit. But there are other things to think about such as design, comfort, colour and cost. Do you go budget or designer, swivel or no swivel, high back or low back. Decisions, decisions.
Well it's an absolute minefield when trying to get office chairs. But fear not, for it's possible to break down all these variations and come to a simple and logical choice well-suited for exactly what you need. Most of all, you need to think about what you're buying for.
If you're buying for the CEO then you might want a nice executive chair. Executive leather is a classic option, but it's also a little bit trite by now. Designer chairs might be a good choice; you can get some very nice and subtle ones that will blend in well with office surroundings. Maybe you're buying for the office canteen, if so think about wooden chairs or acrylic, because as these are going to be around food you want something that is easy to clean. These are excellent because they're lightweight and easily moveable. Many are also stackable, for easy storage and will double up as good meeting or seminar room chairs when training staff.
If the office you're buying for is in a hot climate, or there's no air-conditioning in your building, then mesh backed chairs are great because they can breathe and don't get too hot. You might also want to think about ergonomic chairs as these are obviously going to be good for the long term welfare of employees. It shows you're concerned for their posture too, which can only be a good thing. If you're only buying a few chairs that are going to be used a lot, then it's a nice idea to get ones that are heavy duty. These will allow near constant use, and resist wear and tear.
So that's chairs for within the office pretty much covered. But these particular sorts of seating won't be appropriate for reception. A good quality and comfortable chair will make people feel at ease as they walk in for an interview, meeting, delivery or whatever else. So it's a great idea to make a proper choice when getting seating for this sort of area. You might as well invest in some nicely designed chairs, because people won't generally be sitting on them for very long and you'll want a bit of wow factor here. A quality armchair won't disappoint anyone, so that's something to think about. You should also consider things like pebble chairs and tandem benches, as these will be pleasant visually as well as providing a bit of variety.
Well, I hope you've got a little more of a handle on the whole office chairs dilemma now. It's not necessarily the easiest choice, but just remember where you are buying for and what sort of impression you want to give and you can make a decision that will provide exactly what you need.
