I do not drink milk but LOVE home made Almond milk. Be sure your almonds are imported. Unfortunately in this country almonds for the most part are no longer raw and at times are treated with Chemicals.
Things You’ll Need:
1 cup of blanched organic almonds (Imported Almonds if all possible, since USA grown almonds are no longer raw)
3 cups of water
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp cinnamon (powder)
1/2 cup Agave
Blender
Step 1
Take one cup of blanched Almonds, place it in the blender and slowly blend in one cup of water. Blend it well until you have reached a creamy consistency. It may take a few minutes
Step 2
Add Agave or Maple Syrup to taste, I usually add 1/2 a cup of Agave.
Step 3
Add the vanilla and powdered cinnamon and another cup of water, keep blending for another couple of minutes or so until smooth.
Step 4
Finally add the last cup of water and taste it to make sure it is smooth and creamy. Almond milk can be used in cereal. Spelt cereal made by Arrowhead Mills, is a great healthy cereal with no added sugar. You can also take some of the almond milk and add fruit to make a delicious smoothie the family will love. I also add almond milk to soups for a creamy taste!
Chill or serve hot with cocoa! Yummy!
Tips
Add one cup of water at a time
Blend the first cup very well so not to end up with bits of almond in your milk
Purchase imported raw organic almonds if possible
Add one cup of almond and slowly blend in one cup of water and blend well until all bits are blended
Be sure almonds are blanched (No skin)
Avoid United States grown almonds, sadly since 2007, they are pasteurized and may be treated with propylene oxide (toxic chemicals) [1]
