Choosing The Right Museum To Visit

Museums have been around for centuries, and of course, as time goes by there are more and more to choose from. It is not true that museums are boring or that they are unsuitable for kids; what you do need to accept here though is that you should do some research. If you carefully select your museums then your whole group or your family will be happy, and this needs to be applied especially when visiting museums abroad. Reserving online entrances is an excellent idea, but you do not want to end up with a situation where you have a group if unhappy clients; so do some homework.

If you have kids with you, they will not thank you for dragging them around art galleries or history museums where there is nothing to do but look at old artefacts and relics. If you must take your kids to an art museum, then a great place to go is to the museum of Salvador Dali in Figueres in Spain. This may be an art museum, but it is one with a difference, full of quirky statuettes and a car parked right in the middle of the grand hall that you can step into. Salvador Dali was well known for his most bizarre art forms, and you will find some stunning representations such as his never ending staircase.

Great for kids also is any museum where there can take an active part in the visit; what this means is that simply looking at old books or pictures is not going to grasp the interest of the average child. The natural sciences museum in London offers interactive games to the children that are both excellent as well as educative, and they will get your kids learning without them knowing. In fact, a day out in London visiting museums can be great for kids, although they would not admit it at first that they have enjoyed walking around a museum.

Keeping to the theme of London and children, in fact people of all ages, Madame Tussauds and the dungeons of London are two spots that could be the highlight of anyone's trip. At Madame Tussauds you will find wax work dummies of all the most important people in British History from prime Ministers to pop stars. And the greatest thing about this museum is that the figurines are updated with time to always look realistic; so if you want your photo taken with the Queen then you know where to come. The London dungeons give a life like representation of what it was like to be incarcerated in London in a by gone era, and this is always a huge hit for the whole family.

For another incredible art experience, but one that is often better accomplished without children, a visit to the Louvre in Paris is a must. This museum that is famous for its huge outdoor pyramid houses the Mona Lisa as well as many other famous art works. And, to compliment a visit to this area of France you will be spoiled for choice for museums in Paris from the strange and bizarre collection of bones found in the catacombs of Paris to the grandeur of the Chateau Fontainbleu located around an hour and a half south of the city by train. If you were under the misconception that museums are boring, then think again; you just need to make sure you choose your museums with care.|
