Holiday Fireplace Decoration

The fireplace in most homes can significantly add to the overall vision of the place during Christmas. So emphasising on the fireplace and making it the main point in your holiday decoration will add warmth and it is perfect for children as they know that Santa enters the house from the chimney. Decide the style of your overall decoration and theme so that your coordinate all of the elements of the decoration.

First, look at what decorations you already have. This way you can easily determine what more you need. Garlands, a decorative Christmas tree with a shining star on the top.

Then the next step is to put a table runner on the mantel of the fireplace. You are going to place the fireplace decoration there.

Garlands surrounding the fireplace are a must. Green or red, you should determine the colour by the means of what the the rest of the décor is going to be. Whether you purchase new scented garlands or you reuse the garlands from the last year the only thing you need is creativity. You can make many simple things look great with a bit of imagination. Stick decorative Christmas picks throughout your garland, such as gaily wrapped miniature presents, jingle bells or other holiday décor.

Pinecones are a great thing for decoration. In addition, it won't cost you nothing more that going into the back yard and finding several ones. A silver, gold or snowy paint sprayed on them will make them look more like a decoration than randomly picked stuff from the yard.

And of course, we cannot forget about the Christmas stockings hanging on the mantel. Children would love to find sweets and candies in the socks.
