How to Budget for studying Abroad

EDUCATION FEES- The semester tuition fee for programs offered through EA is broadly speaking the same tuition rate as Penn State, because you stay enrolled at the University while abroad. Out-of-state differentials DO NOT apply for programs provided by IES, CIEE, and Arcadia. All IES and Arcadia program participants must also pay a $500 confirmation fee directly to IES/Arcadia.
PROGRAM FEE - This Fees includes complete fees require for program, this charges for cultural activities, social activities seminars and other activities held in the college.
ACTIVITY FEE - Participants are not assessed the Penn State action fee.
EA ADMIN FEE - This is administration fees around cost $250, it varies from duration of program. .
HOSTEL - Housing type and availability vary by program and in some cases, the cost may be included in the Program Fee.
BOARD - This fee include for meals.
WELLNESS INSURANCE - While going to study abroad you need to take health insurance. No matter, all participants have MEGA Health Insurance coverage as part of the Education Abroad program.
AIRFARE - The cost of airfare depends on destination, carrier, and journey season. Proof of a round-trip itinerary is often requested by immigration officials upon arrival.
BOOKS AND SUPPLIES - The cost of books and supplies varies, but is generally much less than at Penn State.
DAILY TRANSPORT -these includes going to collage by bus, train, bicycle etc. for students will get discount on these charges.
PASSPORT AND VISA - For study abroad permission you need VISA. Students may require preparing some documents for pre-departure and need to do some paper work as well.
PERSONAL CHARGES - What personal expenses do you anticipate? Living like a student of the host country will help you integrate and save money!
OTHER - Budget for cost of laundry, household items, telephone calls, postage, film, gifts, souvenirs, personal items, entertainment, emergencies, etc.
