UK Singer Adele's Vocal Cord Injury Means Concerts Cancelled

UK singer Adele has cancelled all 10 of her scheduled concerts in the United States this fall. She states that vocal cord damage has caused doctors to recommend a complete break from singing. Apparently, Adele has suffered a hemorrhage to the vocal cords, a serious condition that can put singers out of commission for a long period of time. This seems to be a tough year for Adele. Earlier this year, he had laryngitis and cancelled a series of concerts at that time too.
What can singers do to protect their voice?
Dramatically reduce the risk of vocal injury with the following tips:
- Get to know your voice
- Immediately address warning signs of risk or injury
- Break any habits that are harmful to your voice
- Stay hydrated at all times
- Never clear your throat
Any kind of vocal damage is difficult for singers especially when it can potentially mean permanent damge to their voice.
