Bingo is vastly becoming one of the most popular games in the UK. It has always been popular but this is becoming even more so due to the impact of its online counterpart. Online Bingo has enabled more and more people to access the game, but why should you play bingo?
Many people believe that playing bingo is a trivial pastime whilst others believe that playing games online are bad for you as they believe computer games dull people's brains and reflexes. Recent studies however, have found that playing bingo could actually be good for you. Researchers from the University of Southampton's Psychology Department have found that playing bingo does in fact keep the mind healthy and sharp. They tested 121 people in two age groups, 18-40 and 70 to 82. Half in each group played bingo whilst the other half did not. On tests for speed and accuracy, those that played bingo scored significantly higher than those who did not. They argue that playing bingo or other games that practise the mind can help to keep the mind sharp for longer and that it can delay the effects of mental deterioration. So one good reason to play bingo, whether it be online or at your local bingo hall, is that it can be good for your mind.
Another reason to play bingo is for the social aspects that come with it. Many people who visit bingo halls across the UK make friends there. You can get drunk and socialise with those around you and it is a great place to meet new people. Playing the game online also caters for these needs. Websites have realised the need for the social side to game and have introduced chat rooms and forums that people can sign in to and talk to each other. Chat rooms are generally open whilst games are in-play, whilst forums allow members to debate whatever they like. Some websites also have areas where members can share photos with one another. This type of thing can be particularly useful for those that are shy.
Many online bingo sites offer free games as well as those that you have to pay to enter. So this is another great reason to play bingo. If you are looking for something to do but are running low on money, playing the free versions of online bingo can be great. It is still as enjoyable as playing for money and can also be a way of practising for the real thing. Getting good during the free games will then give you a better chance of winning if you decide to play for money.
Playing bingo is simply a fun thing to do. If you are bored at home, why not give it a try, who knows, you may well become a bingoholic!
