The traditional rules for bingo are very easy to understand. They are the rules that bingo has been played by for a very long time and forms the main way in which to play the game. However, over time there have been variations upon this common theme and the game has expanded to include some game types that many people may not know how to play or indeed never have heard of before. This is not surprising based on the amount of bingo players that play by the traditional rules. Firstly, we will go through the traditional rules and then consider some of the other ways in which bingo can be played.
The traditional rules to bingo are based around each player receiving a card with random numbers on it. The caller then picks out balls numbered from 1-75. Once this is done the caller will announce the number when the players should look to see if they have that particular number on their bingo card. If they do then they use a pen to mark off the number so they know which numbers of theirs have been called and they don't have to remember by themselves. Once the numbers have been completed to a pattern the player will call out bingo and win.
One possible variation on this could be forming a square rather than the traditional line before bingo can be called. Others could be around creating diagonals, faces, multiple lines or even the shapes of animals. Variations on this could be based around using different options at each stage of the bingo process. The possibilities are endless.
This makes the process of playing bingo a much more interesting proposition and can be used again and again. For more interesting times it is possible to use each of the different variations in rotations, this has the effect of constantly changing the win conditions and creating a fantastic night! Even though it is possible to change you might also want to keep the same, this can be great for creating theme nights, one way in which this could be done is asking everyone who comes along to dress up in diagonals and stripes, or if doing faces ask everyone to wear something with a face on. This will have the effect of making your evening fun and exciting! Over time you may find that you settle on a particular variation that suits your own play style.
