Article Ghost Writing Skills – Doing Research Quickly And Efficiently

Since research is a big part of being an article ghost writer, and it's not everybody's strong suit, I thought I'd offer some tips that help me when I'm doing articles. You need good information from lots of sources, but you don't have an hour for each article. This is why I've developed some methods for researching that makes it lightning fast.

Check Article Directory Sites

When you're trying to find some quick and dirty info, especially on a niche that you're not too well-versed in, try checking out articles on article directory sites. You'll find the same types of content you're writing now informative 500-word articles that offer a few tips, benefits or general facts. The content on these sites is good because it's presented in layman's terms and the articles are quick and easy to digest.

But be careful Although you should never plagiarize under any circumstances, you've got to be especially careful here. Take only one little factoid from each article and then move on. Remember also that the article you're writing might be competing with these! Try your best to make yours unique.

Skip Web 2.0 Sites

It might just be me, but I have rotten luck finding information on these. Web 2.0 sites are ones like Squidoo and Hubpages. Instead of offering quick and simple info on a topic, they are designed for people to surf around on. They're great for meandering through, reading and making connections with other people, but not so good for quick research. There's just too much information to digest and it's not organized in an efficient way.

Read Website Descriptions And Check URLs

Before clicking on your results, read the descriptions. Check to make sure the pages is what you really want, and this will save you some time. You might even find useful information there! Just today I'd searched for "what's the typical student loan consolidation rate" and found a figure I could use in the site's description.

It All Depends On Topic

Some topics are easy to research and some are not. If you're writing articles on "liposuction," open several windows and just go to town. Take a tiny factoid here and there, because you've got tons of results. On the other hand, if you're doing something that there's not much information on, you're going to need to dig deeper. You may also have to look for forums and other sites related to the niche. For tough niches, it's a good idea to save these as reference sites and check them out first.

Good research is important, but it can be done quickly if you know how to get straight to the point. It's one of the skills a good article ghost writer has to have.
