Nine Tips for an Independence Day Hot Tub Party That is a Real Blast.

Most of these tips you may already instinctively be familiar with, but, more than likely, one or more of them will have managed to slip your mind when you are busy about the business of arranging and throwing an Independence Day hot tub party. So here is the list, to keep you from getting yourself into hot water. So to speak.
1. Have a good time. Rule Number One. But you might be surprised just how many hot tub party hosts forget it while they are doting on their distinguished guests, refilling drinks, and supplying food, towels, etc. If you have fun, your guests will too, so relax and enjoy yourself.
2. Make sure the hot tub is clean, the water is clear, and there is not an overwhelming odor of chlorine. 'Nuff said.
3. Turn up the tunes. It's really not a party until there's music, at something more than a modest volume level. Make it something lively, whether you are using an iPod docking station, a CD, or a web radio platform.
4. Don't forget the extras. Hot tub accessories and toys will make for fun and games while you and your guests get your soak on. Waterproof cards, rubber duckies, and floating checker boards incite laughter and play in and around hot tubs. Make sure to have fun lighting for after dark, and plenty of red, white and blue around.
5. Overstock towels and bathing suits. You ought to keep about twice as many clean dry towels as you have guests, and it will probably be helpful to have a few extra men's and women's bathing suits on hand, just in case someone forgets to bring one, or someone's suit gets damaged in some way (unless, of course, your Fourth of July hot tub party is going to be that kind of party).
6. Keep the drinks light on alcohol for the first part of the party. Hot tubs induce sweating, causing dehydration, and increase blood circulation, so to keep the drunkenness and hangovers under control, go easy on the booze until a bit later in the evening, when guests are beginning to retire from the hot tub to dryer, cooler lounging spots.
7. Feed to fortify. On the same token as above, keep in mind that hot tubs can sometimes take a little out of you, so put a little back in. Prepare snacks that will rejuvenate and invigorate your guests without over-stuffing them. Save the big meal with the red meat until later on in the evening, or at least keep the portions small but numerous.
8. Include non-hot tub-oriented activities in your itinerary. You never know what might happen. Maybe the hot tub will break down, or the weather will change, or your guests may tire of the hot tub prematurely. Have a back up plan for such contingencies, or set up a hot tub home theater to keep your guests stimulated.
8. Incorporate non-hot tub-related activities. You never know what might happen. Maybe the hot tub will break down, or the weather will change, or your guests may tire of the hot tub prematurely. Have a back up plan for just such contingencies, or set up a hot tub home theater to keep guests stimulated.
9. Choose your guests wisely. You really only have room in the hot tub for so many people at a time, so be choosey, and invite guests who are really going to be the most fun, and who will appreciate the hot tub the most.
And in case of emergency, always refer back to Rule Number One: have fun. Happy Independence Day!
Hot tubs enhance summer fun, and can take any party to a new level. Make your next party a hot tub party! Spas and hot tubs are instant parties - just add water.
