Brokenness: A Doorway to Revival
by Philip Babineauxhttp://www.lifechurchlouisiana.com
It is to these men and women that God does pour out a blessing. That blessing is one of revival. You see, God favors a broken vessel. Upon feeding the five thousand, Jesus began by breaking the bread that was offered from the young boy. The alabaster box intended to pour fragrance on the Lord could only be released by being broken. Jesus himself said " This is my body, which is broken for you. "
If our attempt is to save our lives, we will ultimately lose them, as well as those around us. But if will allow our lives to be broken over the culture of sin that is all around us, God will see a vessel of honor he can use in power. Lord, my prayer is that we would truly be a people who can read with true connection the verse " Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. " (Matthew 5:4) Let the comfort we seek be the very awakening of the church in America, and the restoration of the lost.
