Death That Brings Life

by Blaine Keith

When we come to Christ we are to basically die. According to Romans 8:13 , we are to mortify (kill) the deeds of the body. If we live for ourselves and hold on to things that God says to let go of we are and become fence riders. Have you ever straddled a fence for any length of time? It will wear you out quicker than running a marathon. Always trying to balance and keep straight, it is tough and no matter how good you are, you will fall off at some point in time. In our death that brings life we are to die to the natural spirit that is within us and we are to sit in the seat of God consciousness.

In this we are to reckon our human soul, the self consciousness, dead; that we may become Christ conscious. We also must judge our animal consciousness, dead; that we may become the center of the Holy Ghost, a temple of the Divine Spirit.

So I determine and we are to determine the health of our body not by evidence of my blood but of His blood and the power of the Holy Ghost working in us as He did in Christ. As He sat Him above principalities, so we are as well and we have dominion over the enemy. I said we have dominion over the enemy! Ephesians 1:19-21

We must take our stand in the health of Christ! NOT as we feel, and certainly not in the 5 senses that we were and are born with. We have to believe in the record of God's Word!

For whatever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We have to and must walk by faith and not by sight. He (Christ) teaches us and shows us in His Word that we are to think as He would, walk as He walked and believe in our hearts and not what is in our heads. Sure the head can believe the truth, but most often it tends to lead us away into realms of our own when we should be in the blood.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)

For ye are dead! To the things on earth, and your real, spiritual life is hid from the world, and laid up in God, with Christ - Who hath merited, promised, prepared it for us, and gives us the earnest and foretaste of it in our hearts. To all hopes of happiness from the present world; and, according to your profession, should feel no more appetite for the things of this life, than he does whose soul is departed into the invisible state. (Clarke)

People interpret scriptures differently to some extent and others to a great extent. I feel that people are limited by their size in Christ. We are a flea in a shoebox as someone once told me. We have a certain set of rules and educational values that we live by and we often are the ones who halt, slow down or ruin the blessings that we should be getting. It is for sure that it is not God who ruins anything; it is all us and our 5 senses.

Do not be small in your faith, your thinking, your words to a spouse, your ideas of how things work, especially God and what He can do.

Trust Christ and have complete faith in Him and His finished work on Calvary and you will know the joy that God brings. We are anointed into the nature of Christ and yet we grieve Him when we do not accept what He has done as being sufficient, when we try to think' on our own and become inordinate in our actions and processes we are actually committing spiritual treason.

In my experience people prefer their own religious efforts and practices more-so than being empowered by the Holy Spirit to die to self and live for Christ. It keeps them in control. The worst offenders are the leaders so far as I can tell. They can't take their people where they won't go themselves. It seems most are happy with that arrangement - when they get tested.
