What is Rand Reiki?

Those in search of Rand Reiki head to the International Center for Reiki Training, which was established by its founder, William Lee Rand, in 1988. Rand also currently serves as the Center's Director.

The ICRT began as the Center for Spiritual Development, a nonprofit organization, in that year. It offered spiritual development classes and sessions including past life regression therapy and neurolinguistic programming. In 1989 the ICRT added Reiki training to its curriculum and the focus began to shift to Reiki alone. This culminated in a complete focus on Reiki and the Center's transformation to The Center for Reiki Training in 1991. In addition, the Center's increased international exposure resulted in the addition of "International" to its name six years afterwards.

The ICRT's Reiki training makes use of a unique Rand Reiki style which is a combination of the Usui/Hayashi method and a method known as Raku Kai that is based on Tibetan shamanism. In addition to this unique style, the ICRT has also developed special healing techniques of its own to suit the differing needs of those who seek training and treatment.

One of these techniques is known as Karuna Reiki. This is also called the Reiki of Compassion. It has been reputed to be extremely effective, according to the reports of those who have tried it; it is supposedly stronger and heals more deeply than Usui Reiki. As such it is taught only to those who have already attained the rank of Reiki Master. Karuna Reiki incorporates chanting and toning to help the healing energies penetrate more deeply. The vocal vibrations of the chant act as a carrier wave to allow the energies to enter more deeply into cells and tissues; in addition they open the auras and chakras of both patient and practitioner wider than with many other treatments.

Another technique is Reiki Aura Clearing. This is a Reiki technique used to remove negative psychic energy. Reiki energy is used to empower the practitioner's hands to directly manipulate any negative psychic energy that can be found in a patient's aura and send it to the light. This technique is taught in the Center's Advanced Reiki Training Class.

A third technique, Scanning, is utilized to determine which areas of the patient's body are in most need of Reiki through using the sensitized palm chakras, which are able to scan for areas of the body that are Reiki-deficient and which need the most attention from the practitioner. And in connection with Scanning, Beaming is a method of channeling Reiki to a patient even from across the room, allowing the practitioner to treat the entire aura at once, or channel Reiki to particular parts of the body that have been determined to need it the most through Scanning, regular medical methods, or other such methods.

And lastly, aside from all the other Rand Reiki techniques, the Center also offers a special Healing Attunement Process. This makes use of the specific high-frequency energies utilized when people are initiated, but in this case is only intended to treat conditions or diseases.
