We Are At War Does Anyone Know It?

A video was posted on face book it was the Budweiser commercial in which soldiers are walking through a terminal and everyone starts clapping.

I wrote:

Sue I have seen that commercial before, but just the same very apropos. None of us should forget the sacrifices and responsibilities that the men and woman of our military undertake every day so we all can live free and without the fear of terrorism.

I am always amazed about how fast people forget. In 1942 the US government moved all the Japanese into internment camps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, including naturalized US citizens.

If the government would have taken the same approach after 9-11, I believe that 14 (don't forget the unborn baby) of our brave service people would still be alive today.

After the incident at Fort Hood in Killeen , Texas at the hand of Nidal M. Hasan a monomaniac Muslim terrorist (we need to separate them from the rest of the Muslim world by name). Our leaders should see the need to be pro-active towards dealing with this group, their sole aim is to eliminate everyone who doesn't believe as they do. I do not postulate that we will be able to broker any type of peace with them, in fact I know that they will use any attempt we make against us in their efforts to destroy us.

Enough of our government's political correctness already, we need to stop it now before we are all cadaverous at the hands of these religious zealots. What, you think Timothy McVeigh was motivated by Christ to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City? I don't recall him running around shouting parse Jesus as he lit the fuse in the back of the u-haul truck. McVeigh was motivated by how the Government handled the Waco Siege (1993) and the Ruby Ridge incident (1992), He was a terrorist for sure, but he was not trying to exterminate all of us because we don't follow the teachings of the prophet Mohammed.

McVeigh can lay claim to 168 victims and injuring more than 680. The blast he cause, he destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteenblock radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, and shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings. The bomb was estimated to have caused at least $652 million worth of damage.

When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor The attack sank four U.S. Navy battleships (two of which were raised and returned to service later in the war) and damaged four more. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, and one minelayer, destroyed 188 aircraft, and caused personnel losses of 2,402 killed and 1,282 wounded. how much do you think a battle ship costs? How about a mere 125 million per ship in word-war-II dollars.

Now on September 11, 2001 There were a total of 2,976 victims excluding the hijackers Along with the 110-floor Twin Towers of the World Trade Center itself, numerous other buildings at the World Trade Center site were destroyed or badly damaged, including 7 World Trade Center, 6 World Trade Center, 5 World Trade Center, 4 World Trade Center, the Marriott World Trade Center (3 WTC), and the World Financial Center complex and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The Pentagon damaged by fire and partly collapsed. The Deutsche Bank Building across Liberty Street from the World Trade Center complex was later condemned due to the uninhabitable, toxic conditions inside the office tower. The Borough of Manhattan Community College's Fiterman Hall at 30 West Broadway was also condemned due to extensive damage in the attacks. Other neighboring buildings including 90 West Street and the Verizon Building suffered major damage, but have since been restored. World Financial Center buildings, One Liberty Plaza, the Millennium Hilton, and 90 Church Street had moderate damage. Communications equipment on top of the North Tower, including broadcast radio, television and two-way radio antenna towers, was also destroyed.

The World Trade Center damages, estimated by the New York City Mayor's Office, were staggering: Clean up and stabilization of the WTC site - $9.0 billion; Repairing and replacing damaged infrastructure - $9.0 billion; Rebuilding the World Trade Center as smaller buildings - $6.7 billion; Repairing and restoring other damaged buildings - $5.3 billion; Lost rent of the destroyed buildings - $1.75 billion."
