Does the Liver Help in Preventing Acne Breakouts?

by Josh Matnik(1)

The liver has the responsibility of purifying your blood as it leaves the colon, lungs, and the lymph nodes.  Once the blood is purified, the blood then moves throughout the body to provide nutrients and oxygen to your cells.  The liver can both help and hinder your battle with acne.  Maintaining proper liver health will undoubtedly minimize your risks of getting further acne breakouts.

The liver can sometimes have a difficult time purifying the blood, because of all the impurities which we eat, drink, and breathe in.  Constipation is an extreme burden for the liver, and this will lead to toxins being excreted through the sweat glands.  These toxins can cause acne breakouts.

All waste products from your cells, as well as hormones, are passed through the liver by the lymphatic system.  Once they all get to your liver, the purification process begins.  If your liver happens to have an excessive amount of toxins, the toxins are then stored all over your body.

Androgens that are not broken down by the liver go back into the blood stream and reside in skin cells.  This is the location where they congregate and tend to overproduce sebum, which then moves into the hair follicles.  This is one of the main causes of acne breakouts.

As long as you maintain a high fiber diet, this will insure that you will have a clean colon and prevent constipation.  High fiber diets also absorb these excess hormones, keeping them from entering your bloodstream, and lowering the risk of you developing any more acne breakouts.

Any junk and processed foods that you consume are harmful to your health and can be a catalyst for acne breakouts. This is because they contain a large amount of toxins which cause the liver to overwork itself.  Once you eliminate these from your diet, the toxins will be flushed out of your body, and your improved liver function will help prevent acne  breakouts.
