Caring for a Parrot

Along with the bird cage comes the responsibility of keeping it clean. This is an important step in caring for your new parrot and keeping it happy and healthy. You can also keep their nails and beak trimmed with bird toys and manicure perches. Time should also be made to bathe your pet bird daily. You can do this by misting your parrot's feathers with lukewarm water and lightly dry them with a towel.

Lastly you will be in charge of feeding your new pet parrot. It is vital to meet the nutritional needs of your parrot. Generally you can keep a variety in their diet by providing fruits and vegetables, seen and nut mixes and an organic pellet food. This will depend on which breed of parrot you have and what your parrot likes. In the beginning you may have to try lots of combinations to find what your parrot's favorite foods are.
