Does the Law of Attraction Work for Everyone?

The movie "The Secret" created a conscious awareness throughout the world that we live in an orderly and friendly universe and it does operate in an orderly manner. One way to look at this, if I may borrow the words from Bob Proctor ", is "a law is something that works every time, for every person, everywhere in exactly the same way". If you take the law of gravity as an example, no one on this planet can defy it no matter what they do. What goes up will always come back down. Now because we're so familiar with this law we usually make it work in our favor. If you're sitting on a chair right now, it's the law of gravity that's keeping you in the chair as opposed to floating up around the ceiling. However, if you're not careful, the law of gravity can also work against you; step off a high building for example and see what happens to you.
You attract into your life whatever is in harmony with your subconscious programming. Now that's a mouthful and what it basically boils down to is that whatever you focus on inevitably comes to be. Michael J. Lozier gives the following description of the Law of Attraction in his book with the same title: "I attract in my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative.
So to answer the question "does the law of attraction work for everyone?" The answer is the law of attraction works for everybody. We're just not consciously aware of it when it does happen. It's not as obvious as the law of gravity. Have you ever found yourself thinking of someone then the phone rings and that person is on the other end? Have you ever found yourself to be at the right place at the right time? You were at a social gathering and a chance meeting with someone landed you the job you've always wanted. These are all experiences of the law of attraction at work.
The reason why most people don't believe that the law of attraction works for them is because they don't understand the rules or the laws that govern their success. Just think about it, if you didn't understand the law of gravity, how many times would you fall off a building or a cliff? The same applies for this law. In order for it to work in your favor, you need to understand it.
With conscious awareness comes conscious competence. When you understand this, then you are in charge of where you go and what you do.
