Algarve Beaches - The Best of Europe for Your Best Holidays
Located in the southwest part of Europe, near the north of the continent of Africa, Algarve has the privilege of having the best beaches of the European continent. Because of this geographical detail, Algarve has warm temperatures and nice weather almost all year. In addition to that, Algarve has a large heterogeneous coast where you will find the perfect beach for you.
You can split the coast in several parts depending on its characteristics. You have the west coast where the ocean is rougher and the landscape is still very natural, with only few buildings. This coast is part of the "Costa Vicentina" Natural Park and its beaches are very beautiful with very few people. You have for example Arrifana beach just opposite a big cliff with a fantastic view over the ocean. This is the perfect area if you like calm beaches surrounded by Nature.
The Algarve beaches of the south coast have calmer and warmer water than the west coast. Because the south coast is more touristic the beaches have more people. The area of Albufeira is the most crowded place of Algarve and the more touristic. Here you have beautiful beaches of easy access, some small, carved in the rocks and other very long, like the famous Falesia beach, near the luxury resort of Pine Cliffs. If you like beautiful beaches but at the same time near to ancient villages, beautiful hotels or resorts, sport activities, nightlife, etc., this is the place you should choose.
In the region of Lagos, in the southwest part of Algarve, you have small beaches formed in the rocky coast, known for its beauty. You also can have boat trips into the beautiful caves formed by the sea. You must not miss this part of Algarve.
The beaches of the central south coast, between Vilamoura and faro, are long with clear white sand and are part of the Natural Park of "Ria Formosa". These beaches are surrounded by untouched nature and near beautiful resorts like Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. To get access to some of them you may have to walk a bit through the dunes, but it is worth because these are less crowded beaches. If you are the kind of person that likes beaches with wide spaces, in the middle of nature, with few people, near some of the best resorts of Europe, then these are the perfect beaches for your holidays.
Although the Algarve beaches are a very good reason for coming to Algarve, this region has many other reasons for you to have your best holidays ever. The beautiful weather, SPAs, culture, people, countryside, water sports, golf and so many others makes Algarve one of the best places to spend your holidays.
