Major Hotels in Las Vegas

by Peter Brooks

Las Vegas is known to be the entertainment capital of the world – a place where you can find places to unwind and loosen up. This is the reason why a lot of tourists are attracted to visit the place every now and then. No wonder why a lot of hotels are lurking around this place. The presence of these trippers opens up a new market for entrepreneurs – the hotel industry.

If you go around Las Vegas, you can find a lot of hotels, from second-rate to so-so hotels, to first-class ones. To name a few, Las Vegas has MGM, Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, and Luxor. These hotels reside on the Las Vegas strip and are included to the major and most popular hotels in Las Vegas.

When you actually walk along the strip of Las Vegas, you'll undoubtedly see a lot of hotels all over the place. MGM Grand is just one of them, and probably one of the most popular hotels on the Strip. The hotel is huge with more than 5000 available rooms. You might want to avail a room other than those in the Emerald tower for these rooms are a little smaller than the other rooms. The hotel offers almost everything you need and want, so you might not want to leave the area anymore. However, you should still try to lurk around other places if you really want to experience Las Vegas.

The 30-storey building contains numerous restaurants, including Seablue and Rainforest Café, and a shopping and dining mall. A business center is also residing in the building, a 750,000 square feet of function space, theaters and arenas, and a transparent glass tunnel winds through the terrain for closer viewing. It also has a garden complex which has Coconut groves with several pools, and a slow-moving river. The hotel also offers Spas including a 29,000 square foot Japanese-style spa, fitness center, saunas, steam rooms, and spa tubs, and health center offering various massage treatments. Internet access is also available at a cost, either wired or wireless one.

Other top hotels include Mirage hotel, which is known for its volcano that erupts every hour from seven in the evening until midnight, Treasure Island hotel, which is known for the siren shows of pirates battling against Treasure Island sirens, Luxor Hotel, which is known for its 30-storey pyramid, its two 22-storey towers surrounded with bronze glass, and 10-storey Sphinx, and Bellagio Hotel which is known to be one of the most romantic spots on Las Vegas. Bellagio is also known for its world's tallest fountain made up of melted chocolate.

Almost all of these hotels offer the same amenities you can avail or visit which include casinos, nightclubs, bars, shoe shine, dry cleaning services, jewelry shop, fitness equipment, wheelchair accessible, parking, room service, luggage storage, hair salon, arcade room, live entertainment, gift shop, wedding services, conference rooms,  elevator, newsstand event catering, safe-deposit box, and a whole lot more.

Well written article, Peter. My first and last trip to Las Vegas was many, many years ago; but I remember enjoying the endless light-show. Flying in from Dallas at night was an experience in itself. Although, I would not go to Las Vegas to gamble; I would certainly consider another trip just for the sight-seeing. A marvelous place, indeed.

Thanks for sharing.
