Searching for ideas for your children and your entire family to consume healthier foods but you are not quite sure where to start? You can always start with healthy kids treats that will please your little ones and your entire family family.
A lot of people have the misconception that healthy foods lack flavor. Some people think that if it is organic and in the specialty aisle of the grocery store that the product is expensive. This is not always the case.
Little ones like ice cream but fruit sorbet is a better option for them. Fruit sorbet is yummy and full of flavor. You can create a wonderful sorbet sundae as a healthy and enjoyable healthy Kids snack.
Don't be surprised if the entire family starts scooping and topping the sorbet as quickly as the kids.
Sorbet captures the essence of summer fruits and is basically fat-free. Best of all this delicious dessert is easy to prepare. Sorbet does not contain. Ice cream has air whipped into it, sorbet has virtually none, which makes sorbet a dense and extremely flavorful product.
You may add any variety of berries to a sorbet recipe. Raspberries and strawberries make a yummy and healthy sorbet. Fruit Sorbet is packed with vitamins and fiber as well as a lovely sweet taste. When you grow tired of consuming fresh fruit, enjoy some of these healthy recipes. Most of the recipes work well with frozen berries too. Sorbet is a great way of adding a touch of summer to the winter months
Make Your Own Fruit Sorbet
Raspberry sorbet is a favorite
Ingredients:.
*2/3 cup of superfine sugar
*1 cup of water
*Pure 23 oz. raspberries with 1/4 cup lime juice.
Instructions:
1)Combine sugar and water in a medium sized saucepan
2)Stir slowly over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
3)Bring mixture to a boil
4)Boil for 1 minute.
5)Remove from heat and cool completely.
Make the fruit pure in a food processor or blender.
Add the raspberry pure to the cooled sugar syrup and stir to combine.
Place the pure/sugar mixture into an ice-cream maker and freeze according to
manufacturer's instructions.
If you don't have an ice cream maker, here is an alternative way to freeze the sorbet. Place the pure/sugar syrup in a metal bowl or cake pan and freeze for 1 hour. Remove from freezer and beat with an electric mixer or whisk; return to the freezer. Repeat at hourly intervals 3 more times.
Fruit Sorbet Deserts For Kids
Ingredients
2 pints of sorbet of your choice
2 ripe bananas, sliced
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 pint strawberries sliced
1 package wafer cookies
1)Set out ice cream cups, the sorbet ice cream scoops.
2)Toss the sliced bananas in lemon juice to keep them
from getting brown
3)Set each topping in a separate bowl
4) Let the kids choose and mix their sundaes
Add real whipped cream for added fun.
This healthy snack for little ones does contain sugar but the sugar can be reduced depending on the fruit's sugar content. This is a healthful way to enjoy fruit and a good way to introduce
the taste buds to a healthful satisfying snack.
